Our camps, tailored for curious kids ages 6–14, offer a diverse array of STEM and Maker programs. Participants engage in high-quality experiments and hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity.
As a member of our summer staff, you will play a crucial role in supporting camp operations. Your responsibilities include facilitating daily activities while ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers.
Successful candidates will have experience managing groups of more than 15 children and a background or interest in STEM content. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Successful applicants must be able to commit to the entire summer.
Positions are seasonal, and employment runs from 6/9/26–8/22/26.

Summer Camp Supervisor
The summer camp supervisor works primarily outside of the classroom and oversees the daily operations of the camp, facility utilization, staff coordination, and communication with parents. Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational, administrative, and communication abilities, along with a background in customer service and a passion for promoting STEM education.
The camp supervisor role is split into a morning and afternoon shift to ensure a supervisor is always accessible throughout the camp day. During the camp day, individuals in this role will oversee adherence to the schedule and provide classroom support as necessary. They will serve as the main contact for parents in case of injuries, illnesses, or behavioral incidents. Additionally, they will greet campers, engage with parents during afternoon pick-ups, and ensure the smooth closing of the science center.
This is a leadership role best suited for adults looking to gain experience in team management or program coordination. This is a seasonal, full-time position and requires reliable transportation.
AM: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday–Friday
PM: 12:00 – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday
If interested in full-day shifts, additional hours in the classroom may be available upon request.

Summer Camp Classroom Assistants
A camp assistant is the secondary lead in the classroom. Camp assistants should check in with the educator before campers arrive in the classroom.
Classroom Assistants will facilitate getting additional supplies, leading campers through transitions, and coordinating tasks with Summer Spark Interns. Assistants may also be asked to lead activities during the day and are expected to learn the camp curriculum well enough to do so.
Assistants must commit to either a morning or afternoon shift for the entire 10 weeks of summer. Scheduling is negotiable upon hiring discussion.
Shift A: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Shift B: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday
$15–16/hour
Full-time (40 hours/week) positions available. Part-time hours may be considered.
Applicants must be 16+ by the start of camp, have experience working with children, and have reliable transportation.

Summer Camp Classroom Aides
Primarily assist with camper and classroom management, ensuring campers follow expectations and rules to maintain a safe and fun camp environment.
Aides may work in one-on-one roles with campers who need additional assistance. They will also work in small groups, either tableside or in partner activities, to assist with projects.
Aides must commit to at least one of three shifts for the entire 10 weeks of summer. Scheduling is negotiable upon hiring discussion.
Shift A: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Shift B: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Shift C: 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday–Friday
$13–15/hour
Full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (25 hours/week) positions available.

Summer Camp Intern
Gain experience assisting the Discovery Space team with activities, lesson facilitation, prep, and cleanup.
Interns must be able to commit to at least one of the two shifts available for at least 7 weeks of the summer. Scheduling is negotiable upon hiring discussion.
Shift A: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Shift B: 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
$13/hour
Approx. 15 hours/week available

Seasonal Birthday Party Host (June–August)
$14/hour • Part-time • Weekends required
Discovery Space is seeking energetic, friendly individuals to join our team as Birthday Party Hosts this summer! From June through August, hosts will help create memorable, hands-on birthday experiences for children ages 3–10.
Responsibilities include:

Setting up and cleaning party rooms

Greeting families and assisting with party logistics

Leading engaging science activities for party guests

Ensuring a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for all attendees
Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, reliable, and enjoy working with children and families. Weekend availability is required.
