Day Camps
Our Day Camps for kids ages 6-10 provide the perfect mix of hands-on STEM activities and creative exploration, all in a fun and safe environment. Whether it’s a holiday, teacher in-service day, or some other school closure, Discovery Space Day Camps offer a fantastic way to keep your child engaged, entertained, and learning.

Age-based camp groups ensure experiences are developmentally appropriate and engaging. Children should be registered for the age they will be as of June 1, 2026.

2026 Elementary Camps (Ages 6-10)
Camps run from 9am to 4pm or as a half-day from 9am-12pm, as noted in each listing. Add extended care (for before and/or after camp) for an additional fee— allowing drop-off as early as 8am and pick-up as late as 5:00pm.

Mind Over Matter
June 15-18 | 9am-4pm

Explore how the brain, our most complex organ, sends messages, forms memories, and helps us sense the world. We’ll learn real neuroscience concepts through hands-on activities and how we do our part to protect it.

Creating with Rube
June 22-26 | 9am-4pm
Cost: $325 (5-day) | Extended Care: $55
Build wildly imaginative chain-reaction contraptions inspired by Rube Goldberg. We will design, test, and troubleshoot machines that turn simple tasks into spectacular creations.

Nano-size Me
June 29-July 2 | 9am-4pm

Shrink down to the nanoscale and explore the tiny structures that make up everyday materials! Through hands-on experiments, we will learn how materials are made, shaped, and tested.

Tinker and Till
July 13-17 | 9am-4pm

From soapmaking to cider pressing, and basketweaving to bread making, campers will experience a scientific slice of the self-sufficient life! Join us as we learn to make items from scratch.

Periodic Playground

Explore the chemistry that shapes everything around us! Campers will become elemental engineers as we experiment with atoms, elements, and the tiny building blocks of matter.

Legacy Lab

Step into the shoes of history’s great scientists! Each day, we’ll learn about famous scientists and their contributions to the scientific world. Through hands-on experiments inspired by their groundbreaking discoveries we learn how their legacy lives on to this day.

From the Inside Out
Aug 3-7 | 9am-4pm

A single cell can be an entire organism—or just one tiny part of a much larger system. Cells are the building blocks of life, and we’ll dive into DNA, mitochondria, mitosis, and more as we explore living things from the inside out.

A Marine Scene

All the world’s a stage! We’ll write, rehearse, and perform our own marine science-inspired show; with help from our Rivet scene-building team next door. Together, we’ll bring our story to life from script to spotlight.

Most middle-school camps run as a half-day from 9am-12pm, with select camps running a full-day from 9am-4pm, as indicated in the camp listing.

Piece by Piece
June 15-18 | 9am-12pm (half-day)

Create with wood, glass, stone, and fabric as you explore marquetry, mosaics, stained glass, and quilting. Turn many individual pieces into works of art. Imagination is the limit in this open-ended exploration of expression.

Threaded Together

Learn sewing, tufting, and mixed-media techniques while making personal projects and a collaborative mural. Includes a take-home pillow and a handmade loom.

Maker’s Math

Explore the intersection of creativity, construction, and math. With geometry—and a little algebra—we’ll create eye-catching tessellations, kaleidoscopes, and more.

Rooted in Nature

Grow, build, and get a little messy! We’ll learn gardening basics and create nature-inspired projects using real tools and natural materials.

Illumination Fascination

Discover the science and art of light through hands-on design and engineering challenges. We’ll design and make LED creations, leading up to a custom fiber-optic night light.

Glow Camp
July 27-31 | 9am-4pm (full day)

Through teamwork and under expert guidance campers will collaborate to build a new exhibit. Working together they will build confidence while gaining valuable and practical skills in multifaceted fabrication.
Self-identifying girls and nonbinary individuals gain confidence and leadership experience through hands-on woodworking and a collaborative build project. We’ll learn real shop tools while building something meaningful together.

Mindful Machines
Aug 3-7 | 9am-4pm (full-day)

Blend programing, engineering and creativity. Learn how simple mechanisms and Artificial Intelligence can bring your creations to life. Once they understand how machines learn, campers will train and test their own simple AI models to create clever, responsive projects that think just a little bit like they do.

Clay Play
Aug 10-14, 2 Sessions: 8:45-10:45am OR 11am-1pm

Master foundational ceramics techniques including wheel throwing, slip casting, and hand-building. Finished pieces will be glazed and fired for pick-up later.

Making a Scene
Aug 10-14 | 9am-4pm (full-day)

All the world’s a stage, and we’re building it! Partnering with our elementary performers next door, we’ll design and construct the sets, props, and scenes for their science-inspired show. Using maker tools and creative engineering, we’ll bring their story world to life.

Summer Rewind

A mashup of this summer’s biggest Rivet hits. Campers revisit favorite tools and techniques from across the summer.

Measure, Cut, Build
Aug 17-21 | 9am-4pm (full-day)
Cost: $365 (5-day) | Extended Care (8am-5pm) $55
Great for beginners and experienced woodworkers alike! With expert guidance in a fully equipped shop, we’ll design, measure, cut, assemble, and finish custom creations. We’ll turn ordinary planks into extraordinary projects you can call your own.
Cancellation Policy
If canceling more than 14 days prior to the first day of camp, you may transfer to another camp (space permitting) or receive a refund minus a $50 administration fee.
If canceling fewer than 14 days prior to the first day of camp, you may transfer to a later camp (space permitting). No refund requests will be honored.
